MARKING 35 YEARS OF LOVE, ACTIVISM AND LEGACY

On June 11-12, 2022 the National AIDS Memorial displayed 3,000 Quilt panels in Golden Gate Park, marking 35 years since the first panels were made. Our cast was honored to be asked to take part in the unfolding of these panels for display.

Cleve Jones is an LGBT+ activist who initiated the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, an endeavor that brought attention to the AIDS epidemic in the 80s through 90s. This history is not taught in our schools so we are very honored to talk about it with the man who was a true pioneer in bringing us all together. We remember the Aids Memorial Quilt and the impact it still has on our community as we weather the AIDS crises.

For PRIDE month we are excited to have our first guest! Non other than the QUEEN of San Francisco herself - Donna Sachet! After she was selected as Miss Gay SF in 1993 and reigned as the thirtieth elected Empress of SF in 1995-96 , she knows a little something about PRIDE.

Donna has served as national spokesmodel for Smirnoff Twist Vodka, co-anchored the live television coverage of the June SF Pride Parade for the past 12 years, appeared on television’s Bay Area Backroads, and co-hosted Comcast’s OUT Spoken television talk show for 5 years.

Donna has been applauded for her fun-loving spirit, quick wit, hosting abilities, and musical talent. As co-anchor of the SF PRIDE PARADE she has seen more than her fair share or PRIDE so what better person to talk to about PRIDE - what it means, where it came from and do Kinksters belong?
